The Advanced Material Planning (AMP) module, designed to accommodate the needs of make-to-stock and repetitive manufacturers, helps you increase throughput by ensuring material availability, efficient allocation of resources, and cost-optimized scheduling. The Material Planning Window, run in Advanced Planning mode, provides planning capabilities for both real and planned parts. By manipulating Planned Calendars, user-defined color-coded demand fences allow you to view the availability of parts for both real and forecasted demand within user-specified time periods.
In showing all demand and supply levels, including planned orders, VISUAL generates Exception and Shortage messages from which you can prioritize your activities. Use MRP by Warehouse to assign an independent status to warehouses, then plan parts separately for each warehouse by establishing individual planning factors. This allows you to take advantage of VISUAL’s full multi-warehouse inventory planning and control capabilities.
The AMP module facilitates intelligent planning, viewing, and management of parts with multiple Planning Calendars and multiple scheduling date options. You can plan materials on a daily, weekly, monthly, annual, or any user-defined schedule. Use master scheduled planned parts from within the Master Production Schedule window, in which you can manipulate and/or consolidate customer forecast data.
VISUAL lets you view any level of item details within AMP, for customer orders, work orders, and planned orders, while viewing summary information by time period. Additionally, you can identify multi-level part relationships and specify the percentage of each subordinate part to the parent.
